A Mission of Hope...

FODASA encourages transplant patients, recipients, and families
and raises awareness for early detection and treatment efforts.

Facets of our Work

Like all chronic conditions, early detection is critical.

More than 100,000 patients in the US are waiting for an organ donation today.

FODASA conducts live events nationwide that educate and inspire.

We have produced a series of unforgettable, award-winning films sharing the stories of survivors and donor familes.

I’m Steve. In 2020, I nearly died from cardiac sarcoidosis. My heart failed, I was on life support and was blessed with a heart transplant at my exact moment of need. Just 90 days after that transplant, I was able to climb one of the highest mountains in the southeastern U.S. Since then, I’ve dedicated my life to alerting Americans to a little-known killer disease — and to honoring Daniel, my donor, along with hundreds of others like him. Be encouraged by the messages of hope we share.

About FODASA

The Foundation for Organ Donation and Sarcoidosis Awareness was formed by survivor Steve Hilfiker after receiving a life-saving heart transplant.

Our Vision

To travel the eastern U.S., conducting film festivals and Nights of Hope events at medical schools, hospitals, and churches. In these events we share messages of hope and faith, and promote other liked-minded organizations that are gaining ground in early detection and other medical advances.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote effective methods for early detection & treatment of sarcoidosis, cardiomyopathy and cancer, to expand awareness for organ donation, and to deliver messages of hope through education, media, and film.

Help our non-profit to save lives...and to commemorate lives.
